Additional documents! What do you need besides proof of funds?

Apart from the evidence of finances, you should provide additional documents to strengthen your case. I’ve covered every part of the supplementary documentation you’ll require below.

1. Statement of Purpose

2. Explanation letter

If you have previously applied to Canada or another country and were rejected, this letter is where you explain why you were rejected, and why you are applying again. Explain everything in simple and genuine words. Also, remember that you must explain the exact reason for rejection.

3. IELTS/PTE

You have received an offer letter from a DLI means that you have taken IELTS/PTE exam and you have a test report form. Thus, you must submit a scanned copy of the IELTS/PTE Test Report Form.

4. Curriculum Vitae

This includes information about your personal, academic, and professional background. Please keep it short (two pages maximum). Plus, only include information that is relevant.

5. Rejection mail

If you have previously been refused by any country, you must add a screenshot of the rejection email.

6. Letter of acceptance

Some colleges/universities will send you a new letter of acceptance after you pay the fees. However, some will require you to submit the offer letter together with the tuition fee receipt as a confirmation of acceptance.

7. TT Slip

The bank provides you this slip after the confirmation of your fee submission.

8. Tuition fee receipt

Flywire or Swift provides you with this receipt once the payment reaches your college account.

9. No Objection Letter

You have to apply for a NOC along with your offer letter and a bank draft of approximately NRs. 2000. You should make the deposit on Rashtriya Banijya Bank and apply for the NOC online through this link http://noc.moest.gov.np/. Further, you have to visit Kesarmahal to acquire the hard copy of the letter. Please take the photocopies of all your academic certificates, citizenship, and the offer letter while visiting the office.

10. Police report

Register for an online police clearance report through this link https://opcr.nepalpolice.gov.np/#/login and provide all of the necessary information accurately. Otherwise, you might have difficulty obtaining the report. My husband had trouble receiving a report just because his name matched a suspect in a drug case from 2070 B.S. Besides, what surprised us the most was the fact that the police department didn’t even bother looking into other details such as the father’s name or citizenship number. Just because their names matched, the report was withheld for weeks.

11. Academics

Not only you must arrange all of your academic certificates including mark sheets, provisional certificates, migration certificates, and character certificates but also remember the arrangement must be from recent to the oldest.

12. Letter of recommendations

A letter of recommendation is generally written by someone who knows you well. Since the application is for a study permit, I suggest you ask your academic supervisors to write one for you. You should submit three letters of recommendation (two academics and one professional). The letters should be as personal as possible.

13. Training certificates

Include all the certificates of academic and professional training that you were a part of.

14. Work experience letter

Only include letters that are relevant to your educational background and your desired field of study.

You must combine all additional documents into a single PDF file that is less than 4 MB in size. Scan your academics, compress them if they are too huge, and provide a table of contents on the first page for the VISA officer’s convenience.
