What must a student bring with them on their first time to Canada?

You got your student visa approved, booked your tickets, purchased them, boarded that flight, done with the transit, and landed. What’s next now?

You must present yourself to a border service officer before picking up your luggage and getting out of the airport.

What documents might a border officer ask a student?

  1. Your stamped passport.
  2. Your Port of Entry letter (Correspondence letter)
  3. Offer letter
  4. Enrollment letter
  5. Fee receipt
  6. Vaccination certificate
  7. ArriveCan

Just to be on the safe side, please carry all the documents that you submitted while lodging for your visa. There are minimal chances that a visa officer will ask for entire documents, but you never know.

What is ArriveCan?

ArriveCan is a mobile app that enables all incoming travelers to submit their information quickly and securely before arriving in Canada. You can download the application 72 hours before boarding your flight. Also, you must submit your ArriveCan in transits as well, so remember that this is a must. You can just download the app and submit the information. The app will generate a QR code for you and that’s all you will need.
