Proof of Financial Documents.

Financial documents are proof that you can support yourself while studying in Canada and that you will not be a burden to the Canadian government in any way. I’ve talked about all of the required financial documents and how to prepare them.

List of financial documents required

1. Sponsorship letter

Your sponsors must write and print a statement declaring that they have enough money to cover your stay in Canada. This letter is prepared from the viewpoint of the sponsors, signed at the bottom by the sponsors, printed on blank paper, and notarized by a notary public.

2. Relationship verification

Relationship verification is evidence that the applicant has a family relationship with the sponsors. The applicant’s ward office prepares this letter. You must submit a photocopy of your citizenship certificate, two passport-size pictures of the applicant and all sponsors, and an application letter to prepare this document. In most ward offices, you can find an application letter format. This certificate will cost around NRs. 500.

3. Permanent address verification

You can issue this letter from your respective ward office. To prepare this, you have to submit a photocopy of the citizenship certificate of the applicant and an application letter. No fees are involved in the preparation of this certification.

4. Annual income verification

Annual income verification is proof of the annual income of the sponsors and is prepared by either the ward office or a CA. I recommend you to prepare it from a CA as it is less expensive. All the concerned documents for annual income verification are provided in the next paragraph.

First, for business income: PAN/VAT registration, Company registration (If the PAN/VAT registration and company registration are in Nepali, you must translate and notarize it), and Audit report. Second, for salary income: Employment/Salary letter, Appointment letter, Payslip of last three months. Likewise, for pension: Pension letter, Pension Patta, Bank Statement. Similarly, for Rental/Lease income: House lease agreement or land lease agreement or vehicle lease agreement. Lastly, for foreign income: ID proof showing immigration status, Tax returns for the last year, and payslips for the last three months. You have to submit these documents to a ward office, or a CA to prepare an annual income verification.

5. Tax clearance certificate

Ward office prepares this certificate. To issue this, they require proof that you have been paying all your taxes (Ghar jagga ko baali tireko rasid ko photocopy) and an application. As I said earlier, the format of application is available in most ward offices of Nepal. Plus, the charge for this certificate is NRs. 400.

6. Bank balance certificate/statements/Education loan

All of these are prepared by the bank. If you are processing the educational loan, you need to show the loan sanction letter and loan disbursement letter. Likewise, if you are processing with the bank balance, you have to show a balance certificate along with the statement for the past four months. The statement is not mandatory but it keeps you on the safe side.

7. Property valuation

Property valuation is to show that your sponsors have enough financial ties for you to return to Nepal. This is also prepared by the ward office or an engineering firm. You have to submit photocopies of lalpurja, ghar ko sampanna kagaj, and citizenship to prepare this document. While the consultancies charge you 2000-4000 for this, ward offices charge based on the amount of property you are willing to show.

8. Lalpurja translation

Since Lalpurjas are in Nepali, you must translate and notarize them.

These are all the financial documents required before processing a study from Nepal. Have patience and you got it!
